Police Plan Increased Presence on roads for Holiday Weekend

November 21, 2018

The Rhode Island State Police and Providence police say they’ll increase patrols around Thanksgiving to enforce laws and ensure safety. To spread the message about the dangers of impaired driving, Assumpico and other public safety and transportation officials held a press conference Wednesday morning on the Route 95 overpass on Westminster Street. Also attending were Providence Public Safety Commissioner Steven M. Paré; Providence Police Colonel Hugh T. Clements Jr.; Peter Alviti Jr., director of Rhode Island Department of Transportation; and Lloyd Albert, senior vice president of public and government affairs, AAA Northeast.
