State police chiefs want to consult on governor’s proposal for legal marijuana

Rhode Island police chiefs want to be consulted if the state moves ahead with legalizing recreational marijuana use and want more resources invested to deal with increased use of the drug.

Those are the main takeaways from a Rhode Island Police Chiefs’ Association statement released Monday on Gov. Gina Raimondo’s announcement that she will propose legalization in her upcoming state budget proposal.
