Description
In accordance with the goals of rewarding graduating seniors from area high schools, the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association award scholarships annually to assist students who wish to continue their education.
Selection Eligibility
- These forms are available through each active 1 Member of the RIPCA.
- Scholarships are open only to daughters and sons of active sworn law enforcement officers of any agency in which the chief is an active 1 Member of the association and who have been accepted to a post secondary school.
- ONLY high school graduates for September entrances qualify.
Selection Criteria
- Academic achievement, citizenship, community and school involvement.
- All forms must be completed and signed by Chief of Agency.
- A personal interview may be requested.
- Student must be a high school senior who has been accepted to a post-secondary college as an incoming freshman during the month of September. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- School to be attended must be an accredited post-secondary school or a school accepted by a state higher education authority.
- Scholarships will be awarded upon verification of acceptance and all information provided by applicant that the student is actually in attendance at the institution provided.
- APPLICANT MUST FILL OUT Electronic Application.
- APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE a copy of the schools Acceptance Letter.
- APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE a true copy of your high school transcript in a sealed envelope from the high school with this application.
Selection Process
The Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association nor the Scholarship Committee, will not discriminate on the basis of color, sex, creed, religion or national origin, in accordance with Title IX.
